The Water Warriors Swim and Dive Team launched their 2018/19 season this week with a strong start towards reaching their state meet goals.

For the first time ever, the North Atlanta Warrior girls defeated the Woodward War Eagles by not losing a single event the entire night. With their success and the boys’ push for points, the NA Warriors also won the combined boys and girls score as well.

The “swimmer/diver of the meet” honor for boys goes to our first state champion from last year, senior Drew Sheldon. Drew won not only won his diving (in record scoring points), but also swam in three events to help the boys grab enough points to win the combined point totals.

The “swimmer/diver of the meet” honor for girls goes to freshman Lucie Kimbrell, who stepped up for the first time and placed third in the  500 freestyle (that’s 20 lengths of the pool and the longest event).

The Water Warriors will suit up again this weekend at our own hosted Kickoff Classic down at Washington Park Natatorium to compete with over 25 teams! Come join us and cheer on North Atlanta.
